Melania Gorini è una giovane artista di 25 anni, sta per laurearsi alla facoltà di Biotecnologie a Firenze, e parallelamente agli studi, da quando aveva 17 anni ha iniziato a creare bijoux. Da allora non si è più fermata...i gioielli e gli altri accessori di moda sono la sua più grande passione.

Ci racconti qualcosa di più? "All'inizio era semplicemente un passatempo, creavo oggetti semplici, con vetro e filo di ferro...poi piano piano ho sentito il bisogno di far "evolvere" le mie creazioni.....
Ho cominciato a cercare di realizzare modelli più ricercati e ho scelto di abbandonare metallo, vetro e fil di ferro per dedicarmi completamente alle pietre dure e all'argento...da circa un anno e mezzo poi, ho preso una "fissa" per i cammei. All'inizio era solo una collezione personale...poi ho sentito il bisogno di proporre questi oggetti a coloro che si avvicinavano alle mie creazioni...di trasmettere loro la passione che ho per queste opere d'arte in miniatura!Non è stato facile, anzi, direi che i primi tempi pensavo addirittura di accantonare l'idea di creare una linea composta esclusivamente da cammei....poi però le persone hanno cominciato ad apprezzarli, direi soprattutto all'estero, e allora è di nuovo tornata la voglia di continuare a creare e a ricercare soggetti sempre diversi e moderni. Sicuramente mi rivolgo a persone che sappiano apprezzare l’unicità dei pezzi handmade e che soprattutto sappiano distinguere le imitazioni mal riuscite dal vero gioiello. Ovviamente i cammei non sono gli unici gioielli che realizzo, ho creato anche una linea con ciondoli vintage inglesi in argento, degli anni '60-'70 e acquistati direttamente da collezionisti inglesi...oppure una linea di bracciali in argento e pietre dure con mascherine dedicate al carnevale di Venezia...il filo conduttore che lega le mie creazioni è sicuramente la ricerca che sta dietro ad ogni creazione, e la qualità dei materiali. Come ho accenato all'inizio ormai creo utilizzando soltanto componenti in argento 925 e argento 925 placcato oro e pietre dure."

At first it was just a personal collection ... then I felt the need to bring these items to those who approached my creations ... to convey to them the passion that I have for these works of art in miniature has not been easy, i would say that the first time I thought even to set aside the idea of creating a line composed exclusively of cameos .... but then people started to appreciate them, I would say, especially abroad, and then back again is the desire to continue to create and to seek diverse subjects and modern. Surely I turn to people who can appreciate the uniqueness of handmade pieces and above all capable of distinguishing the botched imitations from the real jewel. Obviously, the cameos are not the only jewelry that I make, I also created a line with pendants vintage English silver, the 60s and 70s and purchased directly from British collectors ... or a line of bracelets in silver and semiprecious stones with dedicated masks at the Venice carnival ... the common thread that binds my creations is definitely the research that lies behind every creation, and the quality of the materials. As I told, I began to create components using only 925 silver and 925 gold plated silver and precious stones. "
